Summer in the city has taken on a certain WOW factor! Downtown Detroit is fast-tracking into a new metropolis. Every time I find myself immersed in the new landscape and just how far we have come and where we are headed I feel a new wave of anticipation.

Exciting, to say the least with over 5 billion dollars in new construction in Downtown, and Corktown alone not to mention Midtown. From national retailer H&M arriving in the Fall of 2019 joining already established stores such as Carhartt, Nike, Warby Parker, Bonobos and Under Armour to new restaurants and clubs. The 50 million dollar Motown Museum expansion breaking ground soon. Destination spots such as Little Caesars Arena and mixed-use centers such as Olympia Development’s new 70 million office complex at 2715 Woodward Avenue who after years of speculation on developing property around the arena will boast a five-floor structure with a 127,000-square-feet of office space containing: medical facilities, and retail on the lower level.

Hotel space is growing in leaps with the opening of the Shinola Hotel, The Siren Hotel and The Element Detroit at the Metropolitan all are amazing new editions joining The Foundation Hotel, Aloft Detroit at The David Whitney and Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Clubs and bars like the newly opened Monarch Club Rooftop Bar located inside the Element Hotel with great views of the city, Candy Bar Cocktail Lounge inside The Siren Hotel is an exquisite throwback to days gone by, The Standby Lounge located in one of the trendy alleyways teeming with activity. So many new and diverse businesses are popping up every day that makes the future of Detroit seem poised for bigger and more awe-inspiring opportunities.
