You can feel the Bahamian breeze wafting through the venue with this globally inspired collection for Prabal Gurung’s S/S 2020. It seems to manifest many vibes, a collection filled with lush floral explosions interlaced in the fabrics but also accessorized with brilliant heads wraps, belts and coolly crocheted bags. Structured but unstructured at the same time the clothes are effortlessly casual but with a sense elegance that prevails too. Lots of Red, White and Blue statements

This collection seemed to manifest many vibes, a collection filled with lush floral explosions interlaced in the fabrics but also accessorized with brilliant heads wraps, belts and coolly merged alongside bold power suiting's that encase the body and hyped with cocoon bolero like shoulder treatments or separated with floral waist sashes. Statement denim in dresses; jumpsuits and jeans paired with basic cutaway tees and floral halter tops and a western homage with colorful cowboy boots (created by Miron Crosby in collaboration with Gurung) as western seems to be a growing theme for 2020! a “NEW AND MODERN AMERICANA”. Prabal’s menswear looks make the grade as by well pairing again the power of flowered tops over shiny print pants for a look that’s super fresh, fitted safari suits and a flash of tie-dye print. Politics and fashion is also becoming the meme moment as with this collection entitled “Who gets to be American?” and enlighten of the super charged political climate on immigration currently engulfing the world Prabal had his finale of models take to the runway wearing sashes.
